2024 Tennessee Tree Farmer of the Year: Allan & Melissa Romans, Romancoak Farm
Each year, the Tennessee Tree Farm Program honors one outstanding landowner who demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable forestry, land stewardship, and conservation. We are proud to recognize Allan and Melissa Romans of Romancoak Farm in Overton County as the 2024 Tree Farmer of the Year.
Romancoak Farm is a shining example of responsible forest management. With a landscape rich in biodiversity, Allan and Melissa have worked diligently to improve wildlife habitat, protect native species, and support healthy forest regeneration. Their efforts have created a welcoming environment for songbirds, pollinators, and countless other species that depend on well-managed woodland.
During the Tennessee Forestry Association’s Annual Meeting, Allan Romans accepted the award and shared remarks:
“It’s been a blessing to me and my family and I hope that it can be a blessing to my children and their children, the community and the rest of the state.”
That generational vision is at the heart of what it means to be a Tree Farmer. With landowners like the Romans leading the way, Tennessee’s forests are in good hands for years to come.
Congratulations, Allan and Melissa—and thank you for your outstanding example of woodland stewardship.
