5 Steps to Certification

  • Be a good steward with 10-10,000 acres of woodlands.

  • Request more information to see if you meet the ATFS eligibility criteria.

  • Request a property visit from an ATFS-certified forester by contacting TFA.

  • Host an ATFS inspector to verify that you’re meeting the Standards of Sustainability.

  • Await approval to join our community and post your ATFS sign.

  • Participants in the American Tree Farm System are committed to following sustainable forest management practices and techniques for a broad range of objectives. When surveyed, the top three objectives of family forest owners in the program are conserving wildlife habitat, having a place to enjoy with their friends and families, and leaving the land better for the next generations.
