Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an environmental education program designed for teachers and other educators working with students from pre-kindergarten through high school. It uses the forest as a "window" into the natural world, helping young people gain an awareness and knowledge of the environment and their place within it. Teachers Conservation Workshop (TCW) is a free week long workshop for educators who want to incorporate the environment into their everyday curriculum. This workshop is designed with Teachers in mind with hands-on-activities and field trips allowing you to learn the latest techniques in forest management that can be utilized in the classroom. Specific division programs include: Fire Detection, suppression and prevention,urban and community forest assistance, insect and disease control,statewide forest inventory and analysis, water quality protection, assistance to non-corporate landowners, forest seedling nurseries, forest products marketing information, genetic tree improvement, and state forest system management.
